It’s officially — BATH WATER WARM — in western Lake Erie. A buoy near the Toledo Crib measured a water temperature of 82.4°F (28°C) with another buoy offshore of Port Clinton measuring an astounding 83.1°F (28.4°C). As of Saturday, July 5th these are the warmest water temperatures in the entire Great Lakes.
By contrast, the water off Isle Royale in northern Lake Superior is still a chilly 39°F (4°C)!

In Cleveland, just dip in a Lipton and it's almost ready.

I might even swim without a wetsuit at that temperature… not the case in the ocean here!

The water temperature today in the Gulf of Mexico in Tampa Bay is 85°F .

Today's South Beach (Miami) sea temperature is 85 °F.

During the summer months, the Gulf will be five or more degrees warmer than the Atlantic Ocean. The Gulf may reach 92 degrees or more.

79 F at the big sandy beach near my house. Very nice. A good bit warmer for this time of year. Then again… hardly any ice last winter.
