Under the cabinet microwave
#11
I agree w/ Blurb. We're currently having the kitchen redone, and have installed a Sharp over the electric stove vented to the outside. I saved a little money by preparing the outside hole in the house to the contractor's spec and he did the connecting. We've had prior experience w/ over the stove models in other houses and we find them convenient and space-saving.

You choose.

The kitchen ceiling is our master's bathroom floor where our shower stall has been torn down for a complete rebuilt due to a water leakage in the shower pan. The workers are putting a finishing touch on the grout at this very moment.

As you can see if we are to install a complete under cabinet range hood or similar, we'll be looking at exposed duct/hoses/pipes up on the ceiling snaking all the way to the window by the sink.

Well, you could always close off that little ledge above the cabinets to create a soffit which will hide the ductwork. It still doesn't give you an elegant way to vent outside but solves one problem. Smile

That's what I was thinking when I looked at the pictures. That shelf will just collect dust anyway. Smile

The biggest concern I would have is the fact you use a gas stove. Unless I missed something, the people who have been posting about theirs have all stated they have electric. Of course, I'm not too tall, so I think about how easy it would be for me to catch a loose shirt tail in the flame as I reached up to the mw.
