Help- Adobe PDF plug-in soooo slow!
#1
So I got Photoshop CS3 and installed it and now whenever I open a pdf in Safari I get the Adobe version, I guess, of a pdf reader plug-in - lots of icons filling up the screen for things I don't need...and so slooooooow! I get to watch the little timer-circle icon turn around and around for like 30 seconds for fairly small pdfs.

I had been using Schubert-it's excellent (and much faster and cleaner) freeware PDF Browser Plug-in, but as far as can tell, CS3 deleted it.

How do I make Safari use it again? Can I just reinstall? Am I going to screw up any of CS3 if I do, or if I remove the AdobePDFviewer plug-in?

Have you tried changing the default application for opening PDF files? Click on one, go to Get Info, change the default app and click the box that says to apply the change to all PDFs. By the way, I don't think CS3 deleted Schubert, it just overrode the preference for using it, so it should still be in your application folder.
