Just back from Fry's

I got to the Alpharetta store at about 4:50 for the 5am opening. The line wrapped around to the back. However, 10 minutes later, I was in. Once they opened the doors, they let everyone in.

Lots of stock - I was able to easily get some SD cards (2GB and 4GB SDHC), Notebook RAM (1GB and 2GB sticks) for upcoming MacBook purchase, 7" Philips DVD player, and 10" Velodyne subwoofer. I also picked up a Palm TX for $199. I was planning on buying it from Palm.com today (free wireless keyboard that I know I won't ever use).

I spent a lot of time wandering while looking at the ad. The only thing that I wanted that they ran out of was the 9" digital photo frame for $47. There were people walking around the 3-4 in their cart, despite the ad stating one per customer. Oh well. Just one more thing that I really don't need.

The check-out lines actually moved pretty quickly and I got home around 6:30. Now have to wake the wife who wanted to go to Kohls.

Tell her to hurry to Kohls. I just got back from there to get the digital picture frame (which they were out of) and the check out line wrapped around the entire loop inside the store. It will be 10:00 am before some of those people get to check out.

GAAK! I dread and detest lines and the story about line for checkout around the store might just might keep me home. I really only need a big or a couple cheap bookcases or shelves and a cheap printer. I see all-in-ones for pretty cheap but they seem to be all the time and maybe not worth the effort. Bookcases and shelving might make Ikea the ticket during next week.

It is 5:30 am and only with four hours sleep may not have the ummph.

These stories are fun. Keep them coming and good bargaining.

Nobody in my family has told me what they wanted for Christmas so I'm going out to get a pair of driving gloves for myself, maybe some insulation at the hardware store, hopefully no lines there.
Then to the gym to work off yesterday's eating.
