Hi all,
I'm seriously considering the purchase of the 2004 upgrade in order to be eligible for the free upgrade to the Office 2008 Special Media edition. Is there any online store that you'd recommend? Preferably one that ships to Canada?
eCost looks good so far...
Thanks!
P.S. Yes, I do have NeoOffice but I am leery of file incompatibility.

At Amazon, Office 2004 (Student Edition eligible for the Special Edition upgrade) is $129.99

I can't say for sure that Amazon ships to Canada but I'd be surprised if they didn't.
Edit: Here's a page that has information on Amazon's policies with respect to shipping to Canada:

Another Edit: I found a page where you can buy more "directly" from Amazon.ca (Canada):
http://www.amazon.ca/Microsoft-Office-St..._1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1199370192&sr=8-1
The price there is CDN$ 199.99; I don't know how that compares to buying from the US Amazon and then shipping it to Canada.

I bought my copy @ NewEgg for $129 + $3 3 day shipping. I've already got my order confirmation for the Office '08 Special Media Ed. Upg to ship in 1/28. I went w/ NewEgg over Amazon b/c Amazon's free shipping is usually super slow and I wasn't going to miss the $3 and wanted to get my upgrade claim in as soon as possible.

Thanks Ted but I am looking for the Office 2004 Std Upgrade which is not carried by Amazon.ca.
Chupa...you had me really excited there for a sec but NewEgg does not ship to Canada.

If you work for the Federal Government or even a large corporation, your employer may have a Microsoft Home Use Program where you can get MS Office really cheap.
My agency participates and I've purchased both MS Office 2007 Enterprise and Office Mac 2004 for $19.95 each. (They are full versions, by the way)
I waiting to see if we can purchase Office 2008 Mac after it's released.

Sorry for perhaps a dumb q, but can someone explain what this "Special Media Edition" is and how much it is (I gather it's cheaper with an Office '04 upgrade):

EDIT: Never mind, looked it up. Intriguing deal.
