Obligatory post from Michigan Ave Apple Store/MBA
#1
Decided to do some unstructured bumming around today and ended up on the Michigan Ave. bus.
Tried to report in from an iPhone first but couldn't negotiate the login process. Still, the thing's about 150% cooler than I expected.

On an MBA now. Love it. Wish the thumbpad was offset to the left to fit my arthritic hands, but that's not anything anyone's doing now. Love the large, far-set keys-- could get used to them in . . . wait, I already am. Not typing by feel can be an advantage.

The geniuses all seem to be attractive gay males. Hi geniuses!

I tried out the solid state models afterwards. Applications launch almost instantly. I didn't realize there was no Firewire either. . . that would be an expensive transition for me, as I have almost nothing in USB2 now and lots of bus powered FW drives.

I had a chance to try a macbook for the first tiime-- less impressive that I expected. Creaky feel reminiscent of my 4 year old iBook G3.

Also spent some time contrasting the display quality of the 20" and 24" iMac. =huge= difference.

Anyone know if there's a difference between the white iMac and the alu case, apart from the material (and the innards)?
