Mixer for video
#1
i'm looking for a good mixer to use with video. Preferably something I could take on location as well. I've been eyeing the mackie's like the 1204. Anyone using something like this? I currently have a canon xha1.

Mackie's a pretty standard name in the live and recording industry.
Solid performers with good features and are reliable. I use several
of their mixers without problems.

This is a nice mid grade 4 ch. field mixer, cheaper if you look around. Way bette than a Azden, NOT a Sound Devices though.

Mackie is a good brand, but Behringer will be very comparable at almost half the price.

You should clarify though, you need a mixer for audio to be used at video shoots. A video mixer is MUCH more expensive, and far less people know info about them.

What do you need the mixer to do? (XLR, Line, 300 inputs, ect?)

yeah, I've been debating over getting a field mixer (which I do want) and more of a traditional mixer. i have two opportunities to film musical engagements. One I can probably get a mix from the board, but the other i'm on my own, and it's a jazz band. I was thinking of micing the instuments and that made me think of the mackie. any thoughts you have are welcome since to date, i've only ever used up to two mic ins on my cam, eith handheld or lav (both xlr).
