Using me.com

Well, the calendar certainly works as advertised. New entries are distributed within minutes. I wouldn't call them instant, but quick certainly applies.

Two questions though.

idisk is showing up on the device list of my brand new Powerbook (YEAH!). I don't want it on the PB since this is a work unit which in principle can be used by anyone in the department. Admittedly, nobody in the department wants to touch a Macintosh if they don't have to, but idisk on this machine is inappropriate. How do I turn off idisk without turning off calendar syncing? I would like to be able to call up idisk periodically but I don't want it accessible all the time.

When I go to account details, I am getting a certificate verification error. The certificate is from Fortinet which is "self signed" and is not trusted, says the information page. Do I accept this certificate or not? I get it from the Account Details link in system preferences/.mac.

You don't.

But you can hide it by going to the Sidebar section of the Finder pre'fs and unchecking it.

getting a lot of "temporarily unavailable." Seems hit or miss. The site is most likely getting hammered as everyone is trying it out.

MacMagus. Thanks for the tip. I now have idisk turned off.

I think that I will turn off .mac (which is still .mac) on this machine, and only turn it on to sync the calendar once a day or so.
