Acrobat Pro: How to selected highlighted text?
#1
I have a pdf where I've highlighted some text, and I can't seem to then select that highlighted text in order to copy it. For what it's worth, my Googling seems to suck.

Suggestions, please!

The PDF might be protected to stop copying and content exporting.

If so there are a heap of applications that can remove the password.

Thanks, Mike.

I can freely select and copy from anywhere in this document, except this parts to which I've applied highlighting.

Sorry,
I didn't mean to tell you the obvious.

You have stumped me then.

Are you using the Touchup Text tool on the Advanced Editing toolbar? It enables you to select, copy and edit text in editable PDFs (although only one text line or block at a time). Its icon looks like this:

I tested a PDF with highlighting over here, and Touchup Text enables me to select, copy and paste highlighted text.

I tested too and I couldn't get it to not work.

Greg, if it's not a confidential or private PDF, share it here and we'll see if we can get it to work.

That portion of the PDF could be an imbedded image.

You didn't, by any chance, use the redaction feature on the text, did you?

Had to ask.
