Crackling sound tape transfer with.....

Spin Doctor but when I recorded with the same equipment using Sound Studio the tape recorded without the crackling sound. The only difference was another iBook because I Sound Studio on one iBook and Final Vinyl and SPin Dr on another.

I wanted to try out the three programs to see which I liked best. I'm going to install the other two programs on the first iBook to see what happens but there should not be any difference in recording from one or the other iBook should there?

The sound that comes out of iBook #2 during the recording process is crackly. I don't think any sound comes out using Sound Studio other than my hi fi tape deck.

Final Vinyl does the same crackling sound.

Background computer activity causing the crackles? I think I understand what you are saying that SD and FV have crackles on one computer and SS doesn't have crackles but is on another computer?

Having said that I use SS all the time and get no problems.
