what happens to Palin if they lose the elections?
#31
From my blog, the Republicans imagining possible scenarios:

"Now imagine it’s November 5, 2008. The election is over. Barack Obama has won by the slimmest of slim margins—just the way you rigged it. What now? Well, John McCain returns to the Senate to do the people’s work, where he can serve out his term being a major thorn in Obama’s side. Exit Sarah Palin—”Thanks for the help, you can keep the wardrobe”. She returns to central casting, I mean, Alaska where she is confronted by all of the scandals and innuendoes uncovered during the campaign and under the pressure of the cries for a recall or impeachment and without the protection of the McCain campaign legal team, she is forced to resign. She then retreats to wilds of Wasilla to pen her memoirs and after whirlwind promotion tour on conservative talk radio, Roger Ailes offers her the job she was born to do: Fox News Bimbo."

Or:

"Now imagine it’s November 5, 2008. The election is over. Barack Obama has won by the slimmest of slim margins—just the way you rigged it. What now? Well, John McCain returns to the Senate to do the people’s work, where he can serve out his term being a major thorn in Obama’s side. Sarah Palin returns to Alaska where she learns Ted Stevens has been re-elected—despite having been convicted on all counts of violating the ‘Ethics in Government Act’—and is awaiting sentencing. Stevens resigns and as governor, Sarah Palin gets to appoint his replacement. And with the ‘Troopergate’ investigation yet to be fully resolved, amid questions about her own conduct, Sarah Palin names ‘Sarah Palin’ as the new Junior Senator from the Great State of Alaska. (How you gonna keep ‘em up in Juneau, after they’ve seen D.C.)

Fast forward to the year 2012. Barack Obama has had a rocky four years as president: The economy hasn’t rebounded quickly enough; he hasn’t been able to deliver on his promises of universal health care and middle class tax cuts; the Republicans have regained control of one or both Houses of Congress. Obama’s chances of being re-elected are waning. In a desperate attempt to remain in the White House, he is forced to drop Joe Biden and pick Hillary Clinton to be the new vice-president. With whom do the Republicans counter? Re-enter Sarah Palin. And if Sister Sarah isn’t quite ready to be president, re-enter Bush, Jeb Bush—the Bush you deserved all along."

I hear Tina Fey needs a stand-in. Not only does Sarah have the looks, but everything that comes out of her mouth is a riot.
