We received our ballots, and Volume 2 (the ballot measures) of the voter's guide yesterday morning. There doesn't seem to be heavily promoted and well funded wedge issue -- like a gay marriage or property rights measure -- on the ballot this time. Its like the Oregon Republicans decided to sit this one out.
We're a few blocks from the elections office, so we will walk our ballots over on Monday or Tuesday.

In a rare election like this one where the GOP is underfunded, Oregon was never available to them. They managed an anti-gay marriage proposition here in California but that was a continuum of two previous efforts - not specifically pegged at turning out the far right to bolster the national ticket.
It's interesting watching them having to still pander to their own base rather than attempt to broaden the appeal. That McPalin has to campaign in Missouri, Virginia and North Caroline less than three weeks out says much about the ground efforts Obama has put in place.

We actually have a tight race for the US Senate going on here. Gordon Smith could go back to Pendleton. The Democrats are on track for a 3/5 Senate majority. This would pretty much make the Republicans the party "out of power" (and Newt Gingrich's mishapen head would finally explode).

Got mine this weekend, turning it in this afternoon. I've been pretty happy with our Congressional delegation for the most part, even Gordon Smith. That's the last decision for me, let him continue - he does have more clout than a freshman Senator would have - or go for the clean sweep.
