Sharing iPhoto data between 2 computers
#1
I FINALLY got my wife to ditch her PC laptop as I just bought a new MBP 2.4. She is inheriting my 2.4 C2D MB. She was sick of Picassa on her laptop and the sluggishness of her 4 year old computer.

Anyhow, now we are a 100% Mac house: MBP, MB, iMac (graphite) and Mac Pro. I want to be able to share my pictures with her and vice-versa. Ideally, I would like "live" syncing to take place; as she adds photos on her MB, I would be able to put them in my library and again, vice-versa.

Do I need to have Mobile Me to do this? Does such a procedure exist?

search for Sharing in iPhoto Help.

"When you view shared photos, they’re streamed over the network to your computer. You can view them, but you can’t add them to your library, albums, slideshows, books, calendars, and cards, or burn them to a CD or DVD. If you want others to be able to import your shared photos into their computers, try iPhoto album sharing instead."

This is a pretty cool way, without using .Mac (MobilMe), and might just work with iPhoto '08. I tried it with I think iPhoto '07, or maybe even '08, and it works fine.
