Why does iTunes spontaiously download a bunch of old TED podcasts???
#1
This is getting really annoying. I've listened to all the old TED lectures and deleted them from iTunes but iTunes seems to think that maybe i'd like to hear eight old ones that i might have forgotten about. I DON'T.

Anyone know of a way to get this to stop??

sorry, no. I have the same problem with Miro. I think that after the new episodes are used up it switches to a random mix of old shows. It annoys me too.

I think a lot depends on how the RSS page is managed by the particular podcaster. Some will keep the page loaded with information on all the podcasts while others will slowly move the older shows to another page. In any case, you can now set download preferences for each podcast within iTunes. I have had similar problems when the download preference is set to download all versus the most recent.

The problem though is that the old files are re-listed on the RSS page as being 'new' even though many are 2,3, or 4 years old. Sometimes it is good for discovering an old segment that I missed, but that is rare, as I've been watching them faithfully for several years now.
