Funny - She is not the aunt he knew, but he won't throw her under the bus...
She is not old, 56. He knows her, he went there to meet her and she came here at his invitation at least once, and attended his swearing in at his invitation (different reports on that issue). Some reports say she has come in and out of this country at her own fancy for years. That takes some money, yet she lives at taxpayer's expense. Some reports say she is educated (something to do with computers). Why isn't she working? Some reports said that Onyango worked as a residential health advocate for her complex. 6 hours a week y in exchange for a stipend. Is that all you need to do to get housing? Let's line up. Reports that she also has received surgeries and great healthcare at US taxpayers expense while here. How many citizens did this little "old" lady push to the back of the line for housing? A Boston Housing Authority official said yesterday the agency was never notified of a deportation order issued for Barack Obama’s aunt, who has been living in federal- and state-funded public housing in South Boston since 2003. BHA Deputy Director William McGonagle said Zeituni Onyango, 56, a native of Kenya, met the criteria to live in federally funded housing when she applied in 2003. The Associated Press reported yesterday that an immigration judge instructed Onyango to leave the country in 2004 after her asylum request was denied. “The deportation order, based on my understanding, based on what I’ve read in the newspaper, was issued after she moved into public housing in Boston and we would have no way of knowing if there was an order or not,” McGonagle said. (Excerpt) Read more at news.bostonherald.com I don't think Auntie is Obama's responsibility, and she needs to go back home and quit freeloading on the USA. How many other people are doing this in this broke country of ours, where citizens cannot get housing assistance or healthcare?

The place is pictured all over the internet...it doesn't look too bad for free housing.

I've been through there, the picture doesn't do it justice since it doesn't show the rats, roaches or gangbangers and druggies hanging out in the back. This i s NOT a neighborhood people elect to move into, it's one of the sites they are placed if they qualify for public housing.
It also isn't free. Residents pay for their housing on a sliding scale based on income.

Why isn't she working? You mean legally?
Probably because most illegals are scared to be discovered while living here. It seems to me that many of the "anti-illegals" in this country have no real concept or understanding what true illegals face in this nation. Most are here because they believe in the "American Dream" more than Americans. Most are here because they want to support their families. And because of their legal status, they take on menial and low-paying jobs where they can be typically exploited because of their status. These are jobs that are typically too "low class" and "too demeaning" for the average American to take. I'd like to see the day come when zealots get their way and deport everyone "illegal" maybe these same schmucks will be the ones to work the fields and clean my house and hotel rooms for a change. I'd like to see our economy grind to a halt just to prove the point.

Glad to see you are one of those that can afford others to clean your house and do your "menial" tasks.
Where could you possibly dream up such crap like "Most are here because they believe in the "American Dream" more than Americans. Most are here because they want to support their families. I don't know one poor or lower middle class American that does not want or believe in the "American Dream" until they see that they get nowhere by following laws others are allowed to break. It is very heartbreaking to see these people get pushed aside by illegals, breaking laws. Others of us, are on the lower end of the income spectrum, and would indeed do some of those "bad" jobs you lump into one category. Why is a person a zealot, because they want public housing and jobs to go to legal citizens. There are plenty of poor citizens that need these jobs and housing. This lame argument is always used by those in favor of illegal immigration. Since you are so rich, sponsor a few illegals on your own, and pay to get them legal. Don't put it off on the rest of us. Illegals are breaking laws and stepping on others rights. The numbers have skyrocketed in the last 10 years. We did just fine without these multitudes of illegals, and hospitals weren't shutting down, due to unpaid care. I am glad many are going home, and more need to go home. I am all for legal immigration. For some reason, this woman was refused. She should not be in public housing and should go home. She sure isn't paying much, if she works 6 hours a week. Because the process of becoming legal is not ideal, does not mean Illegals should continue to break laws of this country and abuse our taxpayer money. It is wrong on so many levels. This woman is working our system, in essence stealing from taxpayers. This is criminal, by US law.

Is favoring illegal immigration like being for abortion?
