Imac 20" keeps disconnecting from Netgear wireless router?
#11
I have a macbook that does the same (but not as frequently). I'm using a Linksys router so buying that brand likely won't fix the issue.

I occasionally had that problem. Sometimes cycling the airport card on and off did the trick, other times a reset of the Netgear router did the trick.

Since switching to an airport express about 6 months ago, I haven't had the problem since.

Thanks everyone for all the great responses. This forum is the best!

It turns out that my sister has an extra router sitting around (I think a WTR54G like I have) so my Dad's going to try that and see if it helps.

Thanks!

I have the wgr614 connected to a 20" Intel Imac. Same issue. It either randomly disconnects or will disconnect during or waking from sleep mode.
Funny. It worked for a week with no issues. Then started acting up for a week. I had to constantly pull the cord to get it to work. It mysteriously worked again for a week, before acting up again. I then found a link to change the ip address of the router and that worked great for a week and now it's acting up again. Very frustrating. The only other device that uses the router is a PS3.
Any suggestions??? Don't want to buy a new router to have all of these problems return. BTW I am still using Tiger.
Thanks Very Much All!!! Dan, please let me know if the other router works. Wow, router just disconnected and I have to unplug router to send this message!!!!!!!!
