No problems here with Fx3 on either a Sawtooth nor an Al iMac. Running both FlashBlock and AdBlock Plus.
Fx2 was a bit pokey on the G4, but Fx3 is much faster, as well as using fewer resources, whatever that means.
I don't understand why people use that argument so often to bash Firefox. Of course Safari is going to have a smaller footprint, it uses a built-in system framework and doesn't have to load its own rendering engine into memory.
I found that Safari 2 gobbled memory if you work with more than a handful of tabs over a long session. Perhaps that has been fixed in v3, but I can't say, since I stopped using Safari. It's fast, and polished, but has too many limitations, unless one wants to load hacks that break every time Apple does an update.
Just use whatever works for you. A lot of people use more than one browser simultaneously.
