Yes, a migration from the desktop/laptop to the connected convergent technology, the smart phone.
Oddly, think of Larry Niven's personal data device in the 1970's book "The Mote in God's Eye". Local computing, and interlinked with a global data net wirelessly.

I don't think MS has anything to worry about for a while, but they should be concerned about the trend. It doesn't look good to me if you are viewing from MS' perspective. Apple is growing faster than any other platform in mobile AND desktop share. In 18 months they passed everyone but RIM and Nokia in Mobile. In 24 months they grew desktop share by 56%. That is not something to ignore.

Another year or so and it might be time for Apple to revisit their Server marketing, and their complete LACK of enthusiasm for Education Marketing.
If every student already has an iPod, many will have MacBooks, and Many will have Apple smart phones, it makes sense to try and close the deal by having Macs in front of them at school.
