A can of tuna is now 5 oz, instead of 6 oz for the same price . . .

And before that it was 6.5 oz, and wasn't the amount even larger farther in the past? Throws off a lot of the older recipes that call for "x cans of tuna".

Ounce is a measure of weight; fluid ounce is a measure of volume. Two completely different things.
