This is almost becoming another Windows rant in the writing.
I have been trying unsuccessfully to make an image of my Compaq 1688's nearly full 4.6GB hard drive to DVDs with Acronis 8. The Compaq has XP Home and I want to put Ubuntu on it with the possibility of putting XP back.
It turns out that the DVDs have to be formatted. I have been further led to believe that I have to buy yet another program from Nero or someone else just to format the DVDs. I have an OEM version which apparently does not include a program called InCD which will format DVD-RW disks but not DVD-R disks.
Does anyone know of a free easy way of formating DVDs of either stripe or have some suggestions as to how to cope with my dilemma?
MacOSX just works!
