perhaps, but would you feel the same if a store refused to decorate a wedding cake with a mixed race or same sex couple, or a bar mitzpha (sp?) cake with a Star of David? that's the kind of slippery slope i think this gets on to.
All of those, except possibly the same sex couple, would fall under equal access and non-discrimination laws in the whole country. So we are not even on the slope you see. In a number of states even the same sex couple would fall under that protection.

There you go. There's the issue, then there's the law, which are not the same thing. Is it a completely different issue in the states where they are protected, than in the states where they aren't (it's wrong either way, despite the law)? Aryans could seek protection under the law, in the same way.
I agree to some extent with Graylocks. If stores began to recognize them, could they deny them service? Legally, I think they can deny service to anyone, for any reason, and that could become a problem.
I know a lot of people who homeschool, and their beliefs are pretty diverse. Quite a few are 60's hippie throwbacks. Some are "communal" types. Some have kids who were picked on mercilessly in public schools. Also, I don't think rog realizes it, but he's equating conservative religious with aryan, which is very wrong. kj.

Aryans generally cite the Bible (or portions of it) to back up their beliefs.
They rant about how the Jews killed their savior, and so on.
Doesn't make it right, but they often hide behind religion to protect their skewed belief system.

Oh sure, but I'm pretty sure no one thinks it's accurate to say they are just conservative christians. Associating the two isn't real fair. I appreciate your careful wording, fwiw. Thanks, kj.

well, i think you'd be hard-pressed to find liberal white supremacists.
certainly you can't equate conservative Christianity with being aryan or Nazi.
there seem to be as many believers who truly love as those who use it to spread hatred and intolerance.
it's sad when a belief that's based in something so good can be used for something so bad.
