Nobody on this side of the forum is "non partisan"; least of all you.

Perhaps your presumptions are incorrect on many levels
Speaking personally, I'm a giddy as all get out ticket splitting moderate. Why do you feel a need to paint with such a broad brush ?

lafinfil wrote: My "presumption" was that you were amongst those "liberal democrats" I was speaking about. Perhaps you're not a "liberal" or a "democrat"? That's okay with me, as long as you're okay with who you are. Regardless, of your personal affiliation, this forum still seems like it's overrun with angry liberals as opposed to angry conservatives - especially with the constant flow of anger and hate posts about GW Bush and whatever else there is for liberals to be angry about.

In fact, lafinfil, even you weren't okay with who you are, I'd still be okay with it.

Oh, goody. The "I'm OK, you suck" approach.

Instead you just attempt to redirect away from that subject. If you don't wish to comment on Mr. Hills findings and conclusions then that's OK with me, but tying to turn it around in an attempt do distract from it is a bit childish and certainly is no basis for a discussion about it.

I find it interesting that, without any sort of neo-con hardline from me, you are now flailing about trying to get a rise out of me. Since you seem to be suggesting that you've actually read my posts, then you should be familiar with my stance that our political system is corrupted and that neither party serves the people, but rather its' own interests. What you and so many others on this forum try to do is continue the charade that one "side" is better than the other. That "liberals" are "right" and "conservatives" are "wrong." The gist of our situation is that politicians and both parties are guilty and until we can put aside these odd biases and get back to uniting as a people and one nation then our situation will continue to flounder. As I've pointed out on a growing number of occasions: regardless of the personal beliefs of many on this forum, democrats have been complicit in the problems that are result of "supposedly" only the Bush Administration. Regardless of its' source, the OP clearly posted this thread in an effort to reinforce their personal blind stance that continues to divide our nation. It is this kind of thinking that defeats us as a people and we need to move away from that kind of thinking. Divide and Conquer. It doesn't only work against our enemies but it works in keeping our populace blind. My response in this thread was a commentary on the overwhelming number of self-proclaimed "liberals" and "democrats" on this forum that perpetuate this "Divide and Conquer" mentality. Perhaps you didn't "get" that? Of course, I'm not the only one who has noted this. In the December 23, 2008 thread titled "Curious: When did you lose your confidence in GWB?", MacGurl writes: MacGurl wrote: If this forum was more politically swayed "your" direction you'd have more people on your "side" and the rest of us would feel in the minority, but it just happens this forum isn't weighted that way. Just because there might only be 4-5 vocal members who are are coming from your side of the field doesn't mean the rest of us are going to sit back and not speak our minds... In the thread, MacGurl was responding to Swampy (a known and often ridiculed conservative) with regards to the "weight" of the forum. That there are more who think MacGurl's way (liberal) than swampy's way. As Laurence Fishburne's character Dap, in the movie "School Daze" yelled out to people: WAKE UP! |
