I'm using QuickBooks Pro 2005 (v7.0.1 R2).
Is there any way in QB to set up sub-items of an inventory item, so that when you use one of the sub-items, it reduces the amount of inventory in the master top item? As well as keep a running total of number of each sub-item sold.
Here's the scenario. I sell a book. I have 6,000 copies currently in inventory. It was co-authored by someone, and she gets a commission on each book sold. However, she gets a different flat commission, depending on what each book was sold for. For instance, if the book sells for $24 to 18, she gets $7. But if the book sells for $14-17.99, she gets $5. And so forth.
I hope this makes sense.
Last question: anyone know of a QuickBooks forum, aside from the one at Intuit?
Thanks.
