Another keeper: missile shield stays
#1
I commend Secretary Clinton for acting in the interest of our national security,

[f the Iranians continue on this path, certainly one of the options for free countries, the Czech Republic, other Europeans and the United States, is to defend ourselves," Clinton said.]

Of course, Iranians WILL continue on this path hence missiles stay. Russians just have to get used to it. They keep this up and I might not miss Bush's foreign policy much.

I'll have to say, Hillary's got more balls than Barack. Good for her.

I don't see any reason to rub it in Russia's face.

The Russians have plenty of legitimate concerns about our foreign policy in Central Europe and the former Yugoslavia that began under the Clinton administration, and continued under the Bush administration.

However, a limited missile shield does nothing to reduce the deterrent capabilities of Russia's huge nuclear arsenal. The Russians are not the reason for a missile defense. During the cold war, the Soviets had an ABM system for Moscow; we didn't take the trouble to build one for Washington D.C. since we knew it wouldn't matter. MIRV technology made defending cities economically impossible. We chose to defend missile fields in North Dakota with our one ABM system.
