My optometrist's office isn't open right now. :-)
Anything wrong with getting water in my eyes while wearing these particular types of contacts? For example, should I scrunch my eyes up extra-super tight when washing my face?

Just wear those fancy new sunglasses 24/7 and you should be fine.
Seriously, when I wore contacts, I always tried not to get water in my eyes, but mine were the hard contacts and they would wash right out, if you weren't careful. Even with soft contacts, I would think getting water and maybe soapy water in your contact wearing eyes would not be good.

I think with any contacts, no water in the eye is the correct strategy. I've been told as much by my optometrist, which makes me something of an armchair optometrist right now, right?

I've rinsed my lenses with water before when I got something in them and had no solution around. I survived, although I did take them out as soon as I got home and soak them in solution. I had night and days for a while that I could leave in for 5 days, I took showers with them in and didn't have any problems with water.

As a 20-year wearer of soft contacts, I'd say the main issue is washing them out accidentally. Clean water won't hurt them in any other way. And of course no soap, but you wouldn't want that with no contacts either.
I'm not familiar with the Oasys brand but I don't see why it should be any different. You should be safe with a tight squint.

Thanks everyone! I think I'll stick with wearing my sunglasses in the shower!
Just kidding...I'll go with the tight-squint method and will figure that's okay. If the contacts can be worn for a week at a time, I'll guess that includes the occasional drops of water from face-washing and such.

Close your eyes tightly, you'll be fine.
I wore soft contacts while surfing for years, only lost one lense!
