OK you Yankee fans - do you hate the new stadium?
#11
Am a fourth generation Yankee fan. My cousins and I are boycotting any visit there this summer b/c we can't afford the ticket prices. The stadium was built for millionaires to watch other millionaires.

If you actually look around the stadium during games, the bleachers and upper deck seats are filled - and those fans stay until the end of the game.

Revered? Aside from the history that happened on the field, many of the 1970's renovations made it feel more like the bland parks from the 60's (Shea, Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, Busch Stadium) than some of the older ballparks (Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, Tiger Stadium).

Just go on Craigslist. Tons of people unloading tickets at below face value. I have a pair of Terrace level seats for a game next month. They're $45 each. And they're not even the cheapest. That's too expensive for you?

Field level seats were way too expensive at the OLD STADIUM. They could raise the price up of a Field Level seat to $5,000 for all i care. It's not like I was able to afford it anyway at either stadium.

bhaveshp, if you're interested, look into buying tickets for the stadium tour on same day as the game. If it's a night game they start tours at around noon.

The author calls it revered?? Hah. Sure the playing field looks nice. But the part of the (old) stadium that the fans have to walk into and around was shabby, dark, and cold. The concrete and cinderblock walls were crumbling and peeling paint. The florescent lights flickered. The seats were rusty. And that's the restaurant! LOL The bathrooms.. OMG the bathrooms. Don't even go in there unless it's an emergency. Hold it in!

Old Yankee Stadium,, good riddance.
Anything of historical importance is already in Cooperstown. So please spare my the sad violin music. Haha Has the author of the article actually BEEN to the old stadium in the past 10 years? Seriously.
