what does it mean when iBook G4 adapter cycles from orange to green continuously?
#1
the iBook is all pumped up (100% power) but the indicator light on the power cord goes from orange to green, alternating about every two seconds. secret code for...?

BTW, the battery is on its last legs, it only holds a charge for about 20 minutes.

Unplug and replug the adapter at both ends.

Unplug the adapter at both ends and check that the outer metal ring on the plug that firs into the iBook is not deformed.

Reset the PMU.

Well, one thing it could mean is that the battery's a goner.

Try removing the battery and see what happens.

I tried all that and in the ends I had to buy a new battery. Mine was not part of teh recall because it was too old.

POMTL, jp and Lux!

I betting it means your battery *is* a goner.

The very low capacity charges very quickly, but drops below 100% (despite what the display shows) and goes to Charge again.

mbs, please advise if Doc's advise prevails.
