Recommend Switcher Site to Help Sister Learn Mac OS?
#1
Sister finally switched from PC to Mac (you can thank me for the stock price increases this past week, ha!). She is calling me about every 10 minutes with another question, some of which I don't know the answer to as I haven't worked on a PC since 1988. (Thank you, Jesus!)

Can anyone recommend a site for switchers that reveals keyboard commands, how-tos, Office shortcuts, etc. for those new to the joy of Macdom?

She is taking the mac class from her Apple Store but not soon enough!

Gratzi en advancey.

You might steer her towards lynda.com online tutorials, they have one called "Switching from Windows to Mac"

http://www.lynda.com/home/DisplayCourse.aspx?lpk2=643

You can view the first 5 or so for free, if you want to continue it is $25.00 a month I believe.

You might have her look here. I'm not sure it addresses all her questions, but it might be a good place to start.

Best switcher site I have found!

http://www.myfirstmac.com/index.php/

"Do you have friends and family asking you if they should get a Mac, or how to use the one they just got? If your experience is anything like ours, you've spent a bit of time reviewing all things Mac for someone else.

My First Mac is meant to be the website you can direct these inquiring minds to, knowing that they will find independent, helpful answers. We are forming a welcoming community where no question is a dumb question and solutions are offered in plain English. If you are a computer pro, you might think of My First Mac as Mac daycare.

Hopefully, My First Mac will help you by answering all the basic questions and get your friends and family up and running on their new Mac. You can help us by referring your noobs to us and letting your colleagues in pro computer circles know about My First Mac. Are you a frequent poster in tech forums? Drop in some love for us so we can spread it around.

Mac Genius? Have you been using Macs for years and enjoy helping others with theirs? We would love for you to become a contributor to MyFirstMac.com and share your knowledge. Please check out our Be a MFM Contributor page for more info. If you want to start slow, just cruise the comments and chime in when you can offer a solution.

Thanks for your support!

Don't overlook "Help" in the menu. For the finder and each application.

Thanks, all. Yes, I have educated her on the Help menus. She knew she was in trouble when I started calling her "Mom" and "Dad" this week on the phone (I got my folks switched 10+ years ago and they still...oh never mind).
