I have a Mac Pro Dual Core Intel Xeon. 2 Ghz with 3 GIGs of RAM. It has 3 500G hard drives in it. One drive is for the system and the other 2 are set up in a Raid as an auto backup.
My computer was not starting up, seemed to be having a power issue, kind of cycling on and off with clicks. I decided to take out the 2 RAid'd drives and now it starts up fine. Any thoughts on what might be the issue?

Are they seagate drives? The seagate firmware issue was giving my Mac Pro fits a few months ago.

I thought the seagates were only 1 gig or higher that had the problems. However, it does appear that one of your drives from the RAID has gone bad...clicking noises usually mean HD has died.

Youtube has several videos with dead HD sounds...

The drives are WD's. Put one of the Raids back in and it worked fine--so looks like one is dead.
Yes JDC--need to get some more RAM.
