Paypal shipping question
#1
Using the premise that you don't "get something for nothing", I'm wondering about using Paypal to pay for and print a USPS Priority Mail shipping label for an eBay item I sold. The thing is, the buyer didn't pay with Paypal; he sent me a USPS Money Order as requested. However I am able to select Print Shipping Label from my eBay listing page. My question is whether Paypal (or eBay) will take some extra fee or percentage for the privilege of printing the label through their site.

I don't see any indication of extra charges, but just because I don't see it doesn't mean it's not there. It's convenient because most of the info is already filled out and the USPS costs are in line with those on their site. It appears that all I'm doing is saying that they can take the actual shipping charges out of my Paypal account, which would be fine. It's the invisible "extras" I am concerned about.

Does anyone know for sure? Paranoid? Who, me?

The one time I tried to do that (was with UPS), I had to have money in my PayPal account (which I didn't), so I couldn't complete the process.

But, the PayPal/eBay estimate was almost $4 higher than the one I got after shipped through UPS.com, although the shipping estimate was in line with the end of auction calculated rate. hmm.... Makes me wonder if there's an upcharge on all their rates, though.
