UPS strangeness (just sayin')
#1
A few days ago I ordered a new battery for a UPS (cute huh, a UPS battery sent by UPS - maybe not) from Gruber per comments I read here. Today I clicked on the Important Delivery Information link to see when it would arrive and saw this:

Status: In Transit
Scheduled Delivery Date:11/30/2009 (Updated)
12/04/2009 (Original)

Package Progress

MESA, AZ, US 11/30/2009 9:03 A.M. OUT FOR DELIVERY
PHOENIX, AZ, US 11/25/2009 11:40 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
MESA, AZ, US 11/25/2009 11:00 P.M. ARRIVAL SCAN
PHOENIX, AZ, US 11/25/2009 6:35 P.M. ORIGIN SCAN
US 11/25/2009 6:21 P.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

Huh?
Out for delivery?
I live in FL!

Will I ever be able to stop the beeping?

BTW - it ain't here and the 30th will soon be gone.

My guess is that she shipping address is incorrect and you're not going to be seeing it on the 30th or on the 4th.

I'll bet someone is enjoying your UPS, it just isn't you. Sad

Actually the fact that it's a UPS being shipped by UPS, coupled with the LHC passing 1TeV yesterday, has caused a quantum instability in the time-space continuum. Your battery will be received 200 years from now by whomever is living at the address. Probably Martians.

Or they gave you the wrong tracking number?

In the UPS tracking details, it usually lists "Shipped To:" and the destination city. Is that showing Arizona or Florida?

Shipped to address is correct. Ya know, so many companies are using USPS to complete their deliveries - I wonder if that's what's going on here - UPS is delivering the package to USPS in Mesa AZ and their end of the deal is done. I s'pose I could call.

Or maybe they're sending a special truck all the way from Mesa to make sure I get the product - what service! (except it's no longer Nov 30 and you're not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy. Just click your heels...)

Update - I signed up for UPS email notifications and now it says delivery is Dec 1. Be still my beeping UPS.
