Firm follows Apple with Windows-on-Mac code
#1
"US software company Parallels has posted a pre-release version of its upcoming virtualisation tool for Intel-based Macs. Coming in response to the release of Apple's Windows XP-oriented Boot Camp utility, the Parallel product eliminates the need to choose which operating system the users at start-up. Instead, users can flip between operating systems at will.

Parallels also said the software doesn't limit users to Windows XP as an alternative to Mac OS X - they can opt to run "any version of Windows (3.1, 3.11, 95, 98, Me, 2000, NT, XP, 2003), any Linux distribution, FreeBSD, Solaris, OS/2, eComStation or MS-DOS"."

I searched for the title of the article. Sorry that wasn't in depth enough for you.

That, and Parallels actually "pre-announced" their product the day before Apple announced Bootcamp. And yes, both have been discussed extensively on the forum already...

how can one "preannounce" anything? How can one announce something before one announces it?

One either announces it, or doesn't. One either orders something, or one doesn't. One can't "preannounce" or "preorder" anything.

agree w/elmo. stupid semantics.

how about those "pre-owned" cars? yeah, shorthand for previously owned, but that's not the same as pre-owned. pre-owned would mean factory fresh, aka NEW.

and realtors advertising a "newer" roof - what's newer than new? don't they mean "not old, but not new" or even "new-ish" instead?

Seacrest, haven't you got anything better to do than play forum police gotcha games? I don't read everything on this forum, like you do apparently. I searched for the article title, found nothing, so I posted it. If it was of no interest to you, move on. Why waste your time pointing out that info about Parallels had already been posted? Had that particular article been posted, and even if it had what harm did it cause? Now don't you have some navel lint to sort into whites and colors? That would serve a greater purpose.
