Aunt called last night to say thank you. Even her husband was impressed with the sound quality.
Again, thanks to all those who suggested, esp. RAMd.

Happy to have been of some help, kap.
The audioengines are really underated, and a joy to experience. The smaller A2s really provide a lot of very high quality sound, and the A5s *more* than fill a room.
I think AudioEngine will be at Macworld again, and they usually offer a 10% discount (once it was 15%), so you might want to wait until February.
Also a Google search may turn up a discount code from some other source. (Wish I had mentioned that earlier!)

I will be at my aunt's house this weekend to check out the sound. I'm tellin' ya, she was totally elated over the phone. And the shipping? It was fast and efficiently done!
I am on the search for the discount code now! BTW, will the speakers play nice with our Vizio 22 inch HDTV?

Nice choice! I have the Audioengine A5s and they replaced speakers and amp costing 10x as much.
The a2s or 5s would be fine for the TV. There is also someone on ebay selling refurbished units shipped directly from Audioengine for a significant discount. Do a search...
