Had a hard time transferring my apps and preferences from my G5 tower.
Finally had to erase and reinstall SL on the Mini and then everything carried over. Unfortunately, that took all day.
Only other issue I had was getting my speakers to work. Finally searched the Apple discussion boards...the consensus was that the Mini required the speaker plug to be finally inserted. Once I did that, the speakers worked fine.
Also, I added 2, 2 GB ram sticks. Easy enough, just take off the plastic/disc bottom with a turn. Pinch the ram clips and pull out the old chips. My only suggestion here is to not be afraid to firmly insert the new ram.
Setting up two monitors was easy enough. The Mini comes with an HDMI to DVI converter and I ordered the Mini Display to DVI converter.
Definitely as speedy as my MBP, silent, and not hot or even warm to the touch.. Very different from my trusty, but very hot and noisy G5 tower.
Very tidy package
The rubber bottom, which also elevates the Mini, comes off easily to expose the ram. Release the clamps and the ram pops up. But be sure to seat it firmly.
Everything is up to date and working!!
