multiple iTunes users

if my spousal unit gets an iPod and I have an iPhone, id there anything special that I need to do for both of us to make use of my iTunes?
She does not have a user acct on my Mac at this point.
Would I need to add one?

There's no problem with her connecting her iPod to your iTunes copy. She'd need to use your iTunes account for anything related to the store.

But when she gets an iPhone she'll want to use her own iTunes under her own user account, so that her contacts, notes, etc. sync and not yours. Under that scenario she can still share your music in a few different ways without needing to duplicate song storage.

she won't be getting an iPhone unless hell freezes over or Verizon gets an Apple phone.

Here's your solution. Hold the option key upon launching iTunes to create an alternate iTunes library for your wife on the same computer.
