Recommend a good air purifier?
#1
Hello everyone,

I'm looking for something for removing mold/fungal spores in a lab setting-- a standalone machine would be best, so that we'd have flexibility in where we put it. Anyone have a recommendation for something like that? Here's an example of some of the stuff I'm looking at: http://www.achooallergy.com/airpurifiers-compare.asp ... background info here: http://www.airpurifiers.com/articles/mold.htm and here: http://www.achooallergy.com/do-airpurifi...e-mold.asp )

You want Clean-Room suggestions from the forum???

Christ - I hope you aren't doing anything directly related to drug development!

Lab? Spores? Just what kind of hamsters are you breeding there Peter?

No, no, this is not for hamsters, nor drugs... it's a science lab... having problems with mold post-K, not easily remedied on a large scale, easier to "spot clean" an area if possible.

Opening the door to the classroom will take care of any efforts you put into place without a double door vacuum.

You're going to need high end particulate filtration, UV357 and then some, in addition to a +pressure room.

Anything else is like putting a fine mesh over raw meat to see if maggots are spontaneously generated from meat or not.

Jim, the door to this particular room will be remaining shut most of the time, so that's probably not a huge issue.

I don't think we're looking for perfection here (a la real "clean room"), only to cut down significantly on what's there now.

I will recommend a The Whirlpool Air Purifier Line because it has 5 star ratings in Amazon and Dual sensors for both hepa and carbon pre-filters.
