I love being able to deposit checks into my Chase account by taking a photo of the check. USAA currently does it also. Looks like PayPal will start offering it soon.

BTW--Anyone can get a USAA bank account, you do not need to qualify for USAA other services-Military and ex-Military only. USAA gets great kudos from Clark Howard.

I'm waiting for the expected fraudsters to start harvesting checking account numbers. Now that it can be done electronically.... well, "mules" will open a Chase account, give the data to the frauadsters who will 'photograph' generated checks.. fill the account, the mule withdraws the cash and hands it (less a % fee) over. Then moves on to the next one.

So.... Watch your checking accounts as closely as your credit card accounts.

I believe the check-deposit-by-photo service is only available to USAA customers who also qualify for USAA insurance.
