PSA: FREE BEER TODAY ! (Good luck figuring out where)
#11
Fort Collins bud used to be far and above better than the ***** from Merrimac.
Water or brewery or something made quite a difference.

I wonder how long it will take Bud's new owners to realize what's in the bottle isn't what sold Bud, but it was those damned frogs and amusement parks. :-)

Ain't gonna happen. The Latrobe brewery is running again making Iron City Beer under contract for Pittsburgh Brewing. They were also in discussions with Boston Brewing to do Sam Adams beers at one point, but I think that Pittsburgh Brewing beat them to the punch. I believe that ABInBev sold the Latrobe Brewery within minutes of buying Rolling Rock. They sold it to a contract brewer who essentially rents equipment, space, and employees to other beer companies so that they can make different beers when they don't have adequate capacity to meet demand. I don't know if Iron City is any better now that it is made in the Latrobe Brewery, but I'm glad that IC is still around (bad as it is) and that Latrobe Brewery is still operating. I have fond memories of sneaking a few of Dad's ICs from the fridge to drink with friends when I was younger.

I remember driving past the Iron City Brewery while going to see some friends in Pittsburgh--it smelled bad over and above the usual P-burgh stench.

Iron City on tap isn't bad, though--but nobody outside of Pittsburgh has it.

Monongahela Piss Water.

That's what we called Ahrn City.

Drinking Budweiser is like making love in a canoe, though.

And, if that didn't cure you of wanting to drink beer, nothing will.
