As noted earlier, it means "Retail Kit". This signifies that it comes in a box w/the standard installation hardware (like screws, maybe a cable, etc.). Otherwise, it would just be a 'bare drive' in a sealed static bag.

I thought that "bare drives" meant that they were pre-formatted for pron storage
