If the world will be ending, should you renew your domain name?

When I looked into it a few years ago, Clear Channel had a half-price discount for NFPs, but you had to choose from a list of open and presumably less desirable locations within a somewhat narrow time frame.

Just saw this story on CNN's website about this group that is spreading the word that May 21, 2011 will be the date of the rapture and Oct 21, 2011 will be the end of the world.

familyradio.com is their domain name, and it's currently scheduled to expire on March 13, 2011.

I'm curious to see if they renew their domain registration, and if so, for how long.

They have some resources and with those they recently bought this billboard in my neighborhood, that costs money (who knows, maybe Clear Channel donated it).

The upside is they really believe this shit and by May 21st will have spent all the money, then have to slink back into their hole and start again. The downside for them, Christ will appear, denounce them for their false use of his name and they'll have to kill him all over again.

"What makes you think Mayans weren't religious kooks?"

Mayans have never tried to convert me or, hit me up for cash.

Thanks for that one, here are two others that I know about.

And, here are their domain registration expiration dates, should be interesting to see if they renew and for how long.

03/13/2011 FamilyRadio.com (need to act soon, one week left)
07/18/2011 WeCanKnow.com (they can see how things go on 05/21)
12/22/2015 TimeHasAnEnd.org (lots of room for error in calculations)
