As far as I know, ZDnet Clock does not work on iMacs. I imagine it could be rewritten to include more Macs, but it seems like it has been awhile since anyone has done any updating on the software.

Anybody with a Mac Pro who decides to try this should keep in mind a few things. You will probably only get a 10% to 15% boost in processor speed (before the computer locks up) - for a video processing job that takes a long time that may be significant, but much of the time you may not notice much of a difference. The system clock is also sped up, so anything that relies on the system clock - like the time displayed in the menu bar - will be off. In older Mac Pros the acceleration goes away if you reboot - so you have to run ZDnet Clock again to get the acceleration. Faster ram makes a difference. In my Mac Pro 1,1 with its 667Mhz ram does not have as much "head room" for acceleration than if I had 800Mhz ram (that works in the next generation Mac Pro as well as in the first generation).
