Why would be published in a hairdressing journal?

Cosmology doesn't mean hairdressing - it's the study of trashy women's magazines.

To think that in all of the Universe life only exists on Earth is foolish. There's a near infinite number of possibilities out there. The odds that we'd ever find it or recognize it is slim though.

Very well put bro. Given the near infinite size of the Universe and the growing prevalence of planetary systems, it 'seems' the statistical odds of finding, even in the limited sense, life as we know it are immense. But like you said, that same vastness and its implications (as we understand) on our ability to travel to or otherwise detect life is severely restricted. Add on top of that recent thinking about intelligent civilizations out there that may have a brief period of detectability before either going extinct or otherwise relatively silent (as it becomes more efficient and let's less energy get radiated away)..
