I remember a big brouhaha over the fact that the battery was not replaceable in newer MacBooks. Is it still true?
Anyone experienced sudden battery discharge?

Reset SMC/Power Mgr, and calibrate battery.
You can try that, but I doubt it will help. The battery it toast. The newer 'Books batteries are't meant to be user replaceable but I doubt ti would be a problem for most of us. Getting the battery could be a problem, unless there is a third-party solution.

Watched a video on utube and the battery came right out, unless I was looking at the wrong MB.

It's a pretty straight forward removal, as long as Apple doesn't change the screws like they're doing on the iPhone 4.
The only problem might be in getting a battery. You can't get it from Apple, so you'd have to try an authorized repair center or a third party solution, if there is one.

RAMd®d wrote: Apple changed the screws. The screws that hold the battery in are now tri-wing screws. It's easier to find tri-wing screwdrivers than the 5-pointed torx screwdrivers used in the iPhone, but it's still a PITA.
