Thunderbird Unstable?
#1
Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone else is finding Thunderbird unstable in the past year or so? My system just totally froze and I had to restart (i7 MBP with 10.6.7) and I strongly suspect that it's because of TB.

Any opinions on alternatives such as Postbox or Apple Mail? Thanks.

Stable for me. You running the latest release? (v.3.1.10) Have any plugins or extensions?

I use it heavily and have not had the slightest indication of trouble.
It does tend to go wonky when your hard drive gets close to full, and it used to have trouble with more than 20k messages in your inbox but I think that was fixed a release or two back.

I've used it for quite a long time and found it rock solid but, like I said, in the past year or so it's been crashing (and I think taking the system with it) and when it comes back up all of my tabbed messages are gone. I've updated so fingers crossed...

What is the main reason (or 2) that you guys use TBird over Apple Mail?

I used Netscape prior and was able to take all my mailboxes/user profiles over seamlessly into Thunderbird. My mail goes back to early 2003.
I'm not sure why I ever would have wanted to switch to Apple Mail.

I went from Eudora to TB because I wasn't too sure how transferable my information would be in the future with Mail.
