FU: New MacBook in the house!
#1
I bought a new MacBook at Best Buy to get their 18 month financing. Loving the 13" MacBook Pro. The Core i5 makes that thing scream! I picked it up for $1140 because they had some sale and then realized I should have just done student pricing at $1100. Then Apple came out with the $100 to spend in the app store. So I had to go back to Best Buy to get some monies back.

Best Buy told me that they were doing $100 Best Buy gift cards to match the promotion, however, you couldn't get the student price of $1100 if you did that and you'd have to pay retail ($1200). What a rip off. But since I bought mine on sale they said they'd honor that AND give me a gift card. So I did that but the girl at customer service decided it would be easier for her to do a price match and just put a $100 refund on my best buy credit card instead of trying to do a gift card.

So in the end I got a brand new 13" Macbook Pro for $1040 with 18 months 0% financing! Love it!

It took me about 3 years to realize that stood for follow up. I used to think some people here were just really really rude. Wink

Is that a dual or quad core processor in that machine?

I believe it is a dual. As I recall the i3 is a dual core processor with no virtual cores. the i5 is a dual core with 2 virtual cores to make it seem like 4 cores and the i7 is a quad core with 4 virtual cores to make it seem like 8 cores.

It's not the fastest Mac, and in fact it's the slowest Macbook Pro that is of the current generation, but I still love the speed. Much faster than the original Core Duo 2.0 ghz white macbook I bought the day the intel macs came out. Smile
