Costco, BJ or Sam's Club, which do you prefer and why?

Costco is a limited menu retailer vs WalMart. (2,800 items vs 40-50,000). Costco is our first choice. WalMart is never a choice, we simply don't shop there.

If Wal-Mart sent $20 billion to China, that would have paid for all of China's oil imports at $20 per barrel. At $60 per barrel, that is a third of their crude imports. A third of their imports equals about 4% of what the US imports.

Sam's.

The local Costco is in the mega-mall and impossible to get to/from in late winter.

Whereas Sam's is 1/2 the distance and easy in/out.

I remember going to Price Club with my mom many years ago. A unique experience for a kid, to be sure. I would probably go with Costco as it is called now, although I do prefer the old name.

Wal-mart seems to red-neck to me, besides being what seems to be a horrible company that basically destroys people and their businesses.

Sam's / BJ will always seem like knockoffs of Price Club to me, and therefore inferior. That may not be true, but it's what I think.

BJ's, because it's so much less crowded than either of the other two. And I can avoid the cloud of Smug that apparently hovers over all Costcos.

We're a family of three, our daughter is 11 years old and we shop at Costco. The closest one is an hour away, we get up there around every other month and still save enough to more than pay for the membership fee.

I've never even seen a Sam's Club in NJ (thankfully) and Costco is 10 miles away. So I go to BJ's which is half the distance, even though I like Costco's selection a bit more. My local BJ's also sells cheap(er) gas as well and has a fantastic selection of toys at great prices as Christmas nears.

hey, we're almost neighbors. i go to BJs in Medford and Costco in Everett. i like both since both have somewhat different items. i will never go to WallyWorld or Sam's Club.

After the posting about Costco, i like it even more. i'll gladly give them my $.
