Slide Scanner--Any Mass-Scanning Options?
#1
Didn't Nikon used to make a slide scanner that you could buy 50 slide cartridges for, load it up and let it scan all night?

I'd love to rent one of these for a week. I just found another box of slides from the 1980s.

PLUS

I've thought the same thing before - it'd be nice to have access to one now and then but a tad expensive to purchase for limited use...

Looks like you can grab the pair for $3200 on eBay right now. Ouch.

For real?!? I think I may have to part with mine for that kind of cash, it would easily pay for whatever slides I may have to scan in the future.

Well, lets see, I was just shopping scanning services. 4000 dpi slide scans in bulk are around $1.00 each. 2000 dpi are cheaper, but if you care enough to scan your own, I'd assume the the 4000 dpi. You'd break even at 3200 slides. How many ya got?
