I bought 4 of those last time around. I kept 2 and gave two to my brother. All are still rocking hard.

Those are "recertified" in bulk packaging, and IIRC, the original RYF years back was cheaper, and the drives were new. I still have one kept NIB for backup if needed, or for my grandkids to sell as an antique in another fifty years. Great little case and drives actually. Per decay, I used a couple of drives from them to replace smaller and/or failed drives in older laptops (Fujitsu drive mechanism BTW) and put larger capacity WD drives back in the cases when PATA drives were still available for cheap. The risk here is probably from the chance of getting a bad drive; the case is probably worth half the cost, but if they didn't replace the drive w/ a new one, I'm not sure I'd want to deal w/ someone else's former headache when it comes to storing real data.
