Hmmm, my Mac Pro now "retails" for $900

Actually, they are used, but still.

Technically, I paid $0 for my Mac Pro because it was an Apple replacement for a PowerMac G5 that went kaput, although I paid plenty for the G5.

Come to think of it, isn't $900 about the same price as a batch from another dealer several months ago?

Yeah, depreciation is kind of depressing.

I bought my 2006 Mac Pro 1,1 as a refurb in 2007. Paid $1800 for it. 4 years later it's still worth $900.

That still handily beats the value of any 4 years old PC.

I recently installed Quad Core processors and a new ATi 5770 video card in my Mac Pro. I think I can get a couple more years out of the old girl.

So what could I get for my 2.66 Mac Pro (same as MacArtist's and probably the same deal as AllGold's replacement of a bad G5 -under Applecare-) go for with 12GB of ram two 1TB hard drives and a FW/USB PCI card?
