As an Apple and Amazon fan, I thought this was an interesting read.
We are using their EC2 for more and more storage and computational needs.

In the mid 1990s or so Bezos would do his own customer service so he'd exchange email.
He sure had some interesting viewpoints on things.

I don't think the iPad would succeed without content.
What makes the iPhone? It's the apps and the hardware working together. Not separately.
It's the complete package.

For a "cloud-centric" company, Amazon is sure expending a lot of resources on its Kindle devices...

I understand why companies like Amazon and Apple are pushing this cloud thing; it's a money maker for them. I also understand why consumers are interested in it since flash memory is still pricey. However, when flash memory becomes as cheap as regular memory, who will care about the cloud?

it's already pretty damn cheap. when one can store 2000 photos on a $10 card, it's almost not worth transferring to a regular HD; just make a copy and buy another card. i'll trust the flash card as much as I trust the platter.
